Comprehensive Mental Health Services
Three core service lines working together to support the full spectrum of resident behavioral and psychiatric needs.
Mental Health Counseling
- Provided by LSW or LISW clinicians (Licensed Social Worker / Licensed Independent Social Worker), as well as LPCC or LPC clinicians (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor / Licensed Professional Counselor).
- Individual and Group therapy sessions
- Supports: depression, anxiety, trauma, grief adjustment issues, dementia-related mood changes
- Methods include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), supportive counseling, and cognitive stimulation techniques
Psychiatric Medication Management
- Provided by board-certified PMHNPs (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners)
- Includes: psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication initiation / adjustment, and lab review
- Collaborate with the DON and facility staff
- Routine on-site visits and after-hours availability
Therapeutic Behavior Services (TBS)
- Delivered by QMHS-certified (Qualified Mental Health Specialist) providers
- Focuses on reducing aggression, wandering, resistance to care, and stress-related behaviors
- Tools include Functional Behavior Support Plans
- Evidence-based interventions include activity-centered approaches, emotional regulation, and responses to various stressors
